Weekend Project

It was rainy weekend here in the ATL so Jeff and I primed and painted our thrift-store changing table. We're in love with the color and how it turned out!

Mom-in-Training

The poor little Fidel was so sick yesterday and all last night. I was up with him majority of the night with frequent trips outside :( I was concerned about him (sorry if this grosses anyone out) pooping pure, red blood so I brought him to the vet this am. They were fantastic and were totally non-alarmist. Irritated, inflamed lower intestinal tract and the script was a subcutaneous injection of fluids (so he looks like the Hunchback of Notre Dame!), Flagel, and something to block him up. Hopefully this works to get him feeling well again.

Crib-in' It

My mom came to visit this weekend and it was quite productive. We planted a vegetable garden, bought a crib, changing table, and dresser, and started to assemble the nursery! I'll include pics of the garden and fully assembled nursery at a later date (when the nursery is finished and I get around to taking a pic of the garden). The crib belonged to a member at Jeff's club so we essentially stole it it was so cheap! Also, we put Fidel in and he seemed right at home and comfortable. I have included pics of the crib, Jeff and I putting the dresser together, and a pic of Diego and Fidel looking incredibly adorable.

I've been feeling really well these days. Less sleepy and no nausea. Jeff has been working fewer hours so it's been nice to have more time with him again :) Over-all, life is treating us both kindly.

Belly Popped and Snoogle!

So it appears as if I'm boasting a bit of a bump these days! Very very wild. I'll officially be 4 months on Tuesday! Today I started prenatal yoga classes. Felt great to get back into meditation and stretching.

Also, I bought this crazy pregnancy pillow called the Snoogle. It's designed to support my belly and back so I stay on my side to sleep (to increase the amount of blood and nutrients that reach the placenta). Anyway, I have really slept like a log and the pillow makes me giggle so I thought I'd post a photo. Jeff keeps asking for one now! Haha.

Jeff had a big tournament at the club this weekend so he was working ridiculously long days. He played well and everyone had a great time. We attended the closing dinner last night and had such a great time dancing! The band was SOOO good-all soul and motown. Hope everyone is doing well!

So Far, So Good!

This morning I had my 15 week check-up and am glad to report all is well! Jeff had to work this morning so he couldn't make it (but it's good he's busy giving lessons!). I finally gained 1 pound (probably due in part to the 9 deviled eggs I ate yesterday :)! The doctor was very encouraging and had positive things to say throughout the appointment. I was able to hear the heartbeat again...it was once again loud and strong. I swear, it doesn't get old hearing it. Also, I don't have a proper 'bump' yet but clothes that fit me one month ago are no longer buttoning haha! Really fun/surreal to experience these changes.

In non-baby news, though the baby GREATLY influenced the decision, I mailed in my letter of acceptance to the University of Minnesota-Medical School this morning. My request to begin in August 2011 was approved so it's nice to know where we're going and what, well, what I'll be doing. We're still working on Jeff's plan...
