Happy Halloween!

It's been so great having more time with the family-nothing to study, so nice. Last week we had Mac's 2 month check-up and a check-up for Fin. Mac had a funny bump on his head and possible hip dysplasia. Both were worked up and are negative. He's growing phenomenally well and so is Finny B. Healthy boys :) Mac loves Finny B and smiles when he hears him talk.

Spider-man loves hot cocoa.

Spider-man also likes playing in the leaves

Surprise!

Get 'em reading early.

Was a chaperone on a class field trip to the Apple Orchard. We had a blast and it was nice to spend time with Nugget and his classmates. Jeff and I have been thinking about changing school recently--somewhere closer, focused on character development, cheaper :) We toured a place in the neighborhood that all the neighbors swear by and we totally loved it. It sucks because Fin speaks so much more Spanish this year, and his teachers adore him, but we know overall the change is for the best. He's completely un-phased by the change and is so excited for the new school. It helped that the day we toured the school they were learning about the human body-he didn't want to leave.

Proud of the apples he picked.

Smiley, sweet baby Mac!

We made a trip up to Duluth for a late celebration of his birthday and to enjoy Fall. The annual ski-swap was going on and we got Fin his first set of down-hill skis. He was stoked and so are we!

One of the benefits of heading north is that Great-Grandma finally got to meet Mac! She gave him a beautiful quilt (that Fin has been borrowing).

It was a gorgeous weekend. We went on a hike with Grandpa and Mama D up Amity Creek. So fun!

Throwing rocks in the river, watching leaves float down the rapids.

Plumber's Butt!

We went to a B-U-L-L-D-O-G-S hockey game. Fin was so happy...and they won!!! He great-grandma got to spend more time together and...eat ice-cream.

High-five after a Bulldog goal :)

 Mac cracking up Grandpa

Nanabob got Fin a sweet birthday cake. You can tell by his face that he loved it-it tasted delicious too!

Baby Mac in the sink. He's so adorable.

Blowing out the candles. Mama's face is obviously worried about him burning himself or spitting on the cake!

4 generations.

Kayden, Fin, and Mac!

Great-grandma and her great-grandkids.

Silly faces!

I'm at the start of the interview trail and headed out to Chicago to interview at the University of Chicago. It's going to be a crazy few weeks! Pumping, flying, being on my best behavior, missing my family. Uffda. Next up: Columbia, will be fun to see some old friends. Here's a pic from my run around Lincoln Park in Chicago.

Carving pumpkins!

Mac was obviously riveted by the pumpkin carving.

Final products!

Fin's last day of preschool was the Halloween party. There were three Spider-men! Gavin (spider-man) and Jameson (Superman) were his buds in class.

Last week when I walked in to pick Fin up after class I saw him playing with Isabella (the girl to the right of Fin). She was sitting at a table and he brought her play food. She stood up, cupped his face in her hands, and then planted a huge long kiss on his cheek! My mouth was 100% on the floor/smiling huge. He looked at me, his face turned red, and he broke out into a huge grin. OMG. And so it begins. Another teacher saw it and kindheartedly teased him a bit. Fin took it stride and buried his face in my legs while grinning. I quietly chuckled all the home.

Halloween party. Bagels, fruit, juice. Dancing to music, musical chairs.

Saying goodbye to his favorite teacher, Marina (and our favorite teacher). All the teachers cried. We brought them all flowers. When they found out we were leaving the school they all said, "No! He's our sweetest student!" He asked me later why they were all sad about him leaving. I explained how awesome he is and that people love him. He's such a great kid.

Sleeping angel.

Went and picked up a growler from a new, local brewery (Fair State) in the neighborhood. He loved it because it reminds him of the Minnesota State Fair.

Had a fantastic honor of being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society.

Fin and Jeff had a flat tire and bonded over changing a flat :) Fin, Mr Helper, loved partaking.

Fin stoked about the Halloween candy!

The Mulligan Bunch!!!!

We had a great Halloween! The weather wasn't too cold and Fin nabbed a good stash of candy. We did our traditional walk around the hood and then wandered to Sarah Wolff's house to hang out/hand out candy. We had a great time. That evening, Mac only woke up once that night!! Wowza! Felt great and my body craved more!

This weekend we're hanging out, Jeff made butternut squash soup. Tomorrow we're going to the Vikings game. Supposed to be a nice day so should be fun! Then NYC on Tuesday.
