I can't believe it but Fin indeed has a tooth poking through his little gums! In hindsight, it's very obvious that he has been teething. Last night when I was rocking Fin to sleep, I noticed his temperature was elevated and then this morning I couldn't believe that he had woken up every two hours. His cheeks were quite red this afternoon and he was fussy. After changing his diaper, walking him around, and then nursing him, nothing working, I put my finger in his mouth to see if he was teething...YUP!! I was so surprised and shocked that I actually teared up! I was told that the process of teething can go on for months so I figured he had a ways to go before a tooth erupted-nope! When Fin smiles really big you can see the white tip of a tooth peaking out.
Today Fin also pushed himself from his hands and knees up to a seated position. He promptly looked at me and smiled and giggled. It was so cute and strange to see him sit up on his own (without me putting him there). Too much fun.

Woot!
Jeff made it to the final this afternoon and he and his partner won the National Men's (40+) Doubles Championship! The end game score was 3-1. So stoked for them! Fin wore his shirt to cheer on dad from afar. Congrats to them!

We had a rough night here last night. We had a thunderstorm here that is the worst I've ever experienced. Even I was jumping at the loud thunder claps, the sky was lit up like it was day, and the house literally was shaking. The dogs were beside themselves with worry and Fin woke-up scared twice and crying :( I was so glad when the storm finally passed and everyone settled down.

Bumble Bee Yellow
Jeff came home for lunch yesterday and we decided to picnic on the floor in Fin's bedroom. Fin was absolutely enamored with Jeff's yellow shoes. He touched them, tried to eat them, played with the shoelaces, and talked with them! Jeff left for Chicago today, Fin is napping, and mommy is doing laundry :)

Back from Mn
Our trip to MN went pretty well. Fin did well on the flights and was tolerant of all the disruption to his normal schedule. He was exhausted on Sunday and Monday and slept a lot those days! It was nice he was able to meet so many people and it was SO great for us to meet baby Delia and see the proud parents, Jesse and Ida. All are doing well and I'm bummed I didn't get to spend more time with them. I take comfort in the fact that we're moving closer so the visits won't be so rushed and will be more frequent.
Hungry cousins! Ash, Fin, Ida, Delia :)

Finny hasn't spent too much time around other babies so it was really cute to see him so interested in Delia. He was so gentle with her!

I'm beyond thrilled that we have kids about the same age! Ash, Fin, Jesse, Delia, and Ida.

Fin once again interested in Delia and being so nice! She's looking right at him in this pic too!

We stayed at Fin's Great-Grandma's house on Friday night. When we got there she wasted no time getting on the floor to talk and play with Fin :) So great! We had a blast with her and it was nice she was able to see him again...and great for me to see her too!!

We went home for Ida's baby shower. It went well, food was tasty, and there were a few kids there so everyone was happy to play to them. Here is my auntie Deb getting a little Fin time in. He did pretty well this day, Saturday, but was quite exhausted and not quite himself.

Delia did fantastic at the shower: slept, as most newborns do. She is a mere 4 weeks old!

On Sunday, I was with my mom's side of the family for the day. Kelly (my cousin), her husband, Joe, and her two kids, Brady and Kayden, my Uncle Rod and Auntie Mary, Grandma Mattson, and a family friend, Meg, all got together. Fin was still a bit out of it (sleepy) but did very well. It was fantastic to see everyone and Brady and Kayden were so loving towards Fin! They loved playing with him, holding him, and making him laugh. Again, it was so nice to get together and catch up!
Fin with GREAT-Uncle Rod! We'll be thinking about Rod this week as his high school basketball team heads to state! It'll be his 8th trip as a coach!

Brady and Kayden entertaining Finny. They are both so grown up now! Time flies...

On Monday I was hoping to head north to spend the day with Jesse, Ida, and Delia again but trying to coordinate cars, Jesse working, and Fin being extremely exhausted, we decided to stay in Duluth. A few friends stopped by to meet Fin on Monday though (Darren, Tim, and Megan).
Darren and Fin catching up :)

Tim and Fin bonding. I asked Tim to watch Finny as I went to the bathroom/did laundry and from in the basement I could hear Finny totally belly laughing! I came upstairs and Tim was making faces and sounds and Fin was just absolutely cracking up. I've known Tim for a LOONG time and never knew this side of him-it was so sweet to see and hear!

We spent Monday evening over at my Dad's house with Grandpa, Grandma Dee, and Auntie Haley. He was a total ham, laughing, army crawling, and chomping on everything! What a difference a day of catch up sleep makes.
Auntie Haley and Finny. Haley skipped orchestra practice to hang out with Finny-Thank you!!

Grandma Dee and Finny! Like most babies, Fin prefers to be naked.

On Tuesday morning my friend of many years, Moriah, stopped by with her 9-month-old son, Liam. Both our boys have very Irish names, Fintan Mulligan and Liam Brooks! They played together, hit each other with shovels, and drooled :) It was great to see Mo and Little Liam again! Looking forward to living closer to them!

Jeff heads to Chicago this weekend to compete in a National Doubles Tournament. He'll get to see many dear friends and hopefully bring home some hardware! We'll miss him!!!! Fin and I don't have any plans yet-probably packing some more boxes and lots of playing on the floor.

Going Bananas!
We've introduced Finny to his first solid food-bananas! He's not too sure what to think about them but really likes munching on the spoon. He makes the most confused face when we put the mashed bananas in his mouth: brows furrow, mouth opens, stops moving. It's so hilarious. Next: avocados!
Finny and I are getting ready to travel to MN to meet Baby Delia on Friday morning! Her baby shower is on Saturday and I can't wait to meet her, see the proud parents, Jesse and Ida, and have them meet Finny B. Fin is waaaay more mobile now compared to the last time we flew so I have a feeling it could be a bit more challenging but not too worried about it. Jeff will hopefully get some golf in while we're gone, maybe pack a box or two, and love on the perros.

Bringing Fin to the squash tournament on Friday was a success! He was a great baby, let lots of people hold him, and we got to see Dad hit a few winners! I surprised Jeff by making Finny a little shirt to display his Mully-Pride and Dad in turn was so proud and happy to show him off.
Saturday was about 78 degrees and just so beautiful. Fin, Diego, and I went for very long walk around the park and then laid on a big blanket in the front yard. Z and Tessa joined us for some leisurely afternoon chats and Fin was in fine form cooing, smiling, giggling, and moving all around. It was so fun to chat and relax on such a beautiful day and Finny really loves being outside.
Jeff and his old touring doubles partner, Matt Jenson, won the Open Draw on Saturday night! It was really fun to see them play together again and to win!!! It's been awhile since I've seen Jeff play and he played incredibly well. I was a proud wife. Our neighbors watched Fin on Saturday night so I could get gussied-up and go to dinner/drinks with our friends who were in town. It was great to catch up with everyone but by 9pm I was exhausted. I toughed it out until 11pm but was so glad to get home to our boy.
On Sunday morning, Jeff went golfing again, I hung out on Barbara and CJ's back deck as it was 70 and sunny, then Jeff and I spent some time on Peter and Judy's back deck, and had dinner on Mike and Elaine's back deck! It was a fantastic day and Jeff and I are so saddened to move away from the lovely friends we've made here. Sigh.
Now that the tournament at the club is over, Jeff and I look forward to returning to normalcy. He was working 12-14 hour days and rarely saw Finny, or me, awake. I head to Minnesota this weekend for my cousin's baby shower and to meet the little lady Delia (the baby is already here). Can't wait to see her and the rest of the family...but not excited to go from 75+degree weather to 30-40. Ash, get used to it!
Fin is definitely in the danger zone now! He is army crawling all over! Super mobile guy with tons of energy. His movements are much more linear than ever and is reaching, grabbing for everything!
We had some major thunderstorms here last week (with subsequent flooding in Atlanta). The dogs are terrified of thunder and both crowded into the small bathroom with Jeff and Finny :)

A cute outfit from Great-Grandma Dahl! Thank you!

We had to move on from the tummy-tub. It was getting a little tight and Fin only wanted to stand in it! He likes the bath just as much and really loves to try and grab his duck that floats around.

Fin reading.

Having a blast with Dad (and Dad having a blast with Fin)!

Busy Busy!
Our little boy is growing so quickly! He's constantly moving , laughing, playing, almost crawling, and sitting up. It's SO CRAZY! He has so much energy and when he finally gets moving I think we're in trouble!!
Jeff has a big squash tournament at the club this weekend so we have a few friends in town. The squash-folk are golfing this morning at Peachtree Golf Club, playing squash all day today and tomorrow, then tomorrow night our neighbors are watching Fin and we'll go to a formal dinner at the club, and on Sunday morning more golf! Busy and fun weekend. Fin and I will go watch watch Jeff play this evening. We'll see how he does with all the loud noises. Nice to see some friends and I'm excited to watch Jeff play...it's been a long time since I've been able to cheer him on.
Here's a quick little video of Fin from yesterday. I have a bunch of pictures to post but I can't find the connector to upload them. The house is a bit disheveled with all this packing going on...

One more of Fin's adorableness for the day :)
I finally caught Fin rolling over from belly to back on camera! He's just so chatty these days and animated. This guy is too cute.
