Jugular

Jeff spoke with our pediatrician this am and she said that the Ultra Sound shows he has a HUGE jugular. Well, yeah, we knew that, it bulges out of his neck! Haha! So, good news is that there are no masses nor tumors, and she's giving us a referral to an ENT doc to get it checked out by him/her.

Helping Dad Water the Lawn

Fintan is wild! He LOVES climbing and wrestling. Jeff keeps apologizing saying, "yeah, I think that's what I was like." Haha. It's great. My motto is I'd rather have to reign him in than try to push him out. Now that the weather is so great (though it was snowing this morning...weird) Fintan has been helping Jeff in the yard. Adorbs.

The Heart is Great!

Good Afternoon All!

Just a quick update about the echo and ultrasound this morning. Finny B's heart is all clear! They didn't find anything out of the ordinary. The peds-cardiologist came and spoke with us and sort of did some hand-waving about why Fintan turns blue (fair-skinned, sensitive to temperature changes, etc) so overall, we can just not worry about it-yay!

After the echo (which, by the way, he laid so still for and was so patient) we headed for an ultrasound of his neck. Once again, the kid was a champ laying so still. I think it really helps that he never watches tv at home and they had cartoons playing in the room. He was absolutely transfixed. We will find out about the ultrasound tomorrow so hopefully that will be equally uneventful and we'll be told the walls of the vessel are strong and there's nothing to worry about.

Both of my boys are terribly sick right now and so is Joanna (I'm trying to keep it at bay)! We are not a super happy household as we've been lacking on the sleep front. Nuggy seems to be turning a corner, Jeff is at his lowest today (at home, in bed, totally sick) and poor Joanna seems to be on the mend but still sick :(. I've told my body it can get sick April 27th at noon (when I finish my last final) but to hold on until then.

Thanks for keeping Fintan in your thoughts. We feel it!

Nugs

Fintan participated in the 4th Annual Pahl Avenue Egg Hunt! As you can see there were lots of kids (Fin's in the front, left). He wasn't too interested in the candy but had fun finding the eggs and either putting them back or giving them to other kids. Very fun. He was also really into displaying his love for "Da-Da" in front of all the neighbors-lots of kisses and hugs and pointing and saying his name.

He's been really sick for the past few days. He's been extra snuggly and really low key. At night he's been having a tough time sleeping and his appetite is down too. He's a big gooey germ bag right now but he seems like he's turning a corner.

Tomorrow we have his echo/ultrasound so hopefully we find out everything's great, no need to worry.
