Passed...
the 1-hour glucose tolerance test today! The glucola wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be either. No gestational diabetes for me!

What A Difference A Year Makes!
Last year on this day, Jeff and I were married in a small ceremony in my mom's backyard. A year later, here I am in my wedding dress with my lovely baby bump! To celebrate our one year anniversary, I went to prenatal yoga and then met Jeff for sushi (I ate cooked fish, of course:).
Getting excited for my trip back north! Taking off Thursday and will be there for 12 days-will miss my husband and pups but I also can't wait to see my family and friends!

Childbirth Class
So it was pretty long and informative day! Well, maybe it was less informative and more reassuring. Also, an amendment to the previous post, those of you who know me, know that I have seen a delivery before. My hesitation regarding seeing the videos was that I have never seen a delivery and pictured myself doing it. The videos were far from traumatic and I feel rather excited about the mental challenge of delivery. Jeff and I feel pretty confident in our ability to act as a team throughout the labor and delivery process.

Double Digits
I have been feeling well since Sunday. I need to continue taking it easy to avoid triggering contractions which, hasn't been too hard considering how hot it is here :)
Our good friend JR has been here since Sunday. He and Jeff are running a kids squash camp at Jeff's club. It's been great having him here especially for Jeff's sake-he finally has a golf buddy! They've golfed every day but Tuesday so far and are loving it.
Jeff and I have our birthing class this weekend-a two day event. Excited and nervous to see rawness of delivery but I know my mind will be much calmer after I confront it.
As you can see from the countdown ticker, we have entered the double digit phase. Time is flying by! Every time I set the camera up to take a belly pic Diego thinks it's time to go outside-he's so funny.

Note to Self
Golfing in 94 degree weather (feels like 102 w/ humidity), even with a cart, is not a good idea for 25 week pregnant lady who has an irritable uterus. Noted.

Nursery is done!
Jeff and I worked on the nursery yesterday and finished our last bit of decorating-the mobile. Above is a picture of the mobile as the little mister will see it. It moves slowly and rhythmically and the little birds perched on the branches are precious.
Also, here's 24.5 week pregnant pic. Sportin' a solid bump! Been feeling really well the last few days, the contractions aren't constant any longer but come and go. The little guy seriously kicks and squirms non-stop. I love it! It's been HOT and HUMID here...thankfully my neighbors are so generous and let me use their pool! Otherwise not much new-our friend JR is coming for a visit on Sunday and then I get ready to head home to MN. Looking forward to seeing all of my friends and family. Much love to all!

Alien in My Belly!
Saturday was quite rough (lots o' nausea and intense contractions) but since Sunday morning I have been feeling much better.
At my doc appt this am, I had a fetal fibronectin test (fFN). Essentially, fFN is a protein that is detected when the body is prepping itself for delivery. With a negative result, one can conclude (with more than 99% accuracy) that a baby WON'T be delivered in the next 2 weeks. A positive result on the other hand, is not very telling of anything! I asked the doc what the plan of action would be if we received a positive result and he said, "We pretty much make it up as we go along. No one really knows what to do with a positive result." SOO-Jeff and I were naturally hoping for a negative result! Haha!
The doc just called and our results are negative! Woot woot! He said this result combined with my unchanged cervix that it is very very very indicative of a full-term delivery. A total relief. I guess these contractions are just my uterus trying to staying fit.
Otherwise, life is great. I'm stoked to have reached 24 weeks pregnant! The little guy kicks like crazy and today I actually saw my stomach move when he kicked--WILD!! Also, my doc cleared me for prenatal yoga again (woot woot) and I have been bobbing in the neighbors pool lately-a welcome break from the heat. Hope everyone is doing well!

Blowin' in the Wind
I've been feeling alright the last few days. Wednesday I felt fantastic, no contractions at all, but since Thursday afternoon they've been back off and on. They're easier to deal with as time passes...
Jeff and I finished the tree in the nursery tonight. When we finished, I sat in the rocking chair, read 'Where the Sidewalk Ends' (Thanks Patrick!) out loud to Jeff and my belly, and enjoyed our work! Absolutely love the way the tree turned out.
