Fintan LOVES chasing bubbles! It's adorable.

His other favorite thing is music. He bounces, shakes it, bops his head back and forth and sings and claps. He does this hilarious head bob I taught him where he shakes his head 'no' but in rhythm to the music. It's awesome (google LA Reid if you're interested in the inspiration). Music class was always a blast for him so he'll continue taking classes this next session too.

Flirting is something he excels at and engages in frequently. Especially with my friend Betty from NYC (she's in town visiting). When she enters a room, he raises one eyebrow, tilts his head, and lets out a soft coo. Makes us all laugh every time.

Finny B is also into spinning. We have to stand there with our arms outstretched around him so he doesn't get busy and fall into things (which has definitely happened).

He's a tough Nugget to discipline too. He is soo freaking charming. He actually knows the phrase 'not for Fintan' very well but still LOVES to test the limits. For example, in the bath, he knows he's supposed to sit down, but the other day he stood up with his back to me and as I was saying 'Fintan we sit in the tub' (he knows this phrase too) and when I peaked around at his face, there he was just smirking! What a stinker! Or, when he opens a cupboard that isn't for him we say, 'not for Fintan' and he totally charms us with a giggle and a smile as we pull him away from it leaving us laughing (but usually trying to cover our laugh up, it's hard, obviously:).

He's also helpful when cleaning up. He puts his toys back where they belong (or at least the general area) and really likes putting toys in the toy chest.

Ok. More later :) In Summary for today, we are all still as wild about him (probably even more-so) than when he was born. People always said to us it just keeps getting better, and we always thought that that was a weird attitude, because we loved where we were. But, alas, it's true! It keeps getting better every day. What a nugget!!!!!

Oh Geez. Overwhelmed with the insane amount of catchup I have to do, I'm just going to start simple and over the next few days add more snippets.

Fintan had his 15 month check-up today. He's doing great in all ways except speech. He babbles really well but hasn't started calling me 'Mama' or Jeff 'Dada' etc (though he makes those noises). He also very clearly understands us so we know it's not a hearing issue. His head is ginormous (97th percentile), and he's growing taller. Our pediatrician is just smitten with him as we all are.

Fintan is an all-out bruiser. He loves wrestling! Funny for us, not for other kids. Ooops! He'll figure it out. He has great hand-eye coordination and just today picked up a squash ball (at Jeff's club) and tried to hit it with his racquet-like he was serving it! It was so crazy to watch him do over and over again. He is very strong, curious, and stubborn. He has deltoid definition! Very funny. Finny B is also quite a lover and cuddler though too. It's such an amazing combination. Loves giving hugs and kisses when asked and even when unprompted (much to my delight). His two favorite books right now are Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and Goodnight Baby Farm Animals. Amongst all the books on the shelf, he pulls the same two out every night. He's still a pretty good eater. Not too crazy about meat but gets lots of protein from beans, eggs, dairy, etc. He naps twice a day though it seems he's moving to one nap a day. Weird transition period.

Since I've been around more (ie. done with my first semester!) he has been attached to my hip. Not letting Mama out of his sight (unless Grandpa Dahl is around)! It's been so sweet to see my Nuggy so attached to his Mama but it obviously breaks my heart too. This is so tough but overall I'm doing pretty well with balancing med school, being a mama, and a wife.

Will write more later, just needed to get some stuff down now :) Pictures to follow.
